HOW TO FIX MP4 IN SONY VEGAS 7/5/ETC!

requires Quicktime Player and whatever version of Vegas doesn't wanna import the whole MP4 file

So, you've all run into the problem in Vegas. The video won't show on the timeline or preview, only the audio is in there

After a long time of trying to figure this out, I came up with a litle solution!

This requires Handbrake, and it's a free download!

If the image is too small, click on it to view it at full size, but basically

Import the MP4 video into Handbrake, and then convert it using the basic settings. Fast 720p30fps is what I use, except I change the FPS to having it be the same as the source, and the most important part, to change the Encoder Profile from Main to Baseline

After you let the encoder run, you should be able to import the MP4 file into Vegas 5 or 7!
